Megalodon meaning “Big Tooth” in Greek was a giant shark and was a super- predator meaning they have no predators of their own, residing at the top of the food chain. They have a crucial role in maintaining the health of their ecosystems. They were 52- 67 feet in length and 47- 103 metric tons in weight placing them as the largest and most powerful shark in vertebrate history.
