1920’s Balinese statue made of wood, covered with kepeng Chinese coins.

In Bali, Dewi Sri is the consort of Winsu, the God of sustenance. Because rice is so important to the Balinese, she is given the specific function of the rice goddess. There is a shrine for offerings to her beside every rice field in Bali. Dewi Sri is often depicted flying to indicate her beneficent blessing of crops the whole island over.
