Description
This pair of antique “Khrawan” stilt sandals are made of hand carved wood with decorative etched designs. These unique sandals have a stilted style and hemp straps along the instep. These styles of sandals were worn in Afghanistan and Pakistan by the men of Swat Valley.
Located near the Afghanistan and Pakistan border, the Swat Valley has been inhabited for over 2000 years. A peaceful and diverse area, production in this area ranges from beekeeping and fisheries to the location of some of the finest emeralds.
