Septimius Severus- Lucius Septimius Severus was born in AD 146 at Leptis Magna in Africa. He received a classical education and was a soldier of outstanding ability. He reigned for nearly eighteen years before dying of natural causes at age 64. His wife was Julia Domna. Together they had to sons, Caracalla and Geta.
