Dewi Sri: The Goddess Of Rice

In Bali, Dewi Sri is the consort of Winsu, the God of sustenance. Because rice is so important to the Balinese, she is given the specific function of the rice goddess. There is a shrine for offerings to her beside every rice field in Bali. Dewi Sri is often depicted flying to indicate herÂ beneficentÂ blessing of crops the whole island over.
