Additional Information
A traditional symbol in order to ensure fertility for young women, th Namji is also considered something playful. Namji dolls are made of hardwood and adorned with shells, beads, metal coins and fibers. The doll is named, fed and carried on the back as women would carry their infants. In doing so, this prepared the young girls for motherhood.
These dolls mostly represent females but may occasionally appear as couples.
