Sumba Island (also known as Sandalwood Island) is well known for its Sandalwood, horses, megalithic tombs and hand woven textile (“ikat”). Sumbanese keep strongly to their traditions and religion called Marapu. The important ceremonies such as wedding and funerals include animal sacrifice and adornment of traditional jewelry which depicts social status.
