Tami Dickason

"A comprehensive understanding of many facets of the rare coin and precious metals markets."

tamiTami entered the coin business through a twist of fate in January, 1982. Pursuing a degree in graphic arts at the time and seeking employment close to campus, a position became available at London Coin Galleries’ Mission Viejo Mall Gallery, and it was a good fit.

Having no prior interest or experience in the coin business, she was thrust into an industry that was just coming off the first historic high in the precious metals markets. All everyone spoke about was the “boom” in the recent years prior, and how crazy business had been. More than 30 years would pass before metals would surge to record highs again!

Originating in London England, London Coin Galleries inventories a multitude of diverse products setting it apart from most other US coin shops. Tami’s “ah hah” moment came while cleaning a storage area on a quiet Saturday afternoon. A treasure box of antiquities surfaced that roused her curiosity. In it were relics from ancient civilizations; including Egypt, Luristan, Greek, and Roman. Studying ancient Egyptian art history at the time, these items were tangible evidence of this fascinating culture and its many art forms. She was hooked!

Ever curious, Tami’s interests and knowledge have broadened over the years to include a comprehensive understanding of many facets of the rare coin and precious metals markets. Actively dealing in United States, World, Ancient, Odd & Curious coins, and Currency, Tami’s resulting knowledge of world history, colonization, ruler’s, economies, geography, war, and world cultures is broader in scope than it would be had she not pursued a career in numismatics. In 1990 Tami opened London Coin Galleries’ Newport Beach location. This gallery boasts a fascinating inventory, that in addition to coins, precious metals, and currency, also includes Antiquities, Ethnographic Artifacts, Fossils, and Minerals.

Throughout the past 26 years London Coin Galleries Newport, under Tami’s direction, has earned a reputation within the local community and the rare coin industry, of integrity, reliability, and security. Providing knowledgeable, courteous, and trustworthy service at the best prices is the mission of LCGON.

Tami’s expertise is solicited by major banking, and wealth management institutions, attorney’s, private estates, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, among others to provide expert testimony, and/or appraisal service relating to rare coins, and precious metals.
